Teardrop Plan

Since we were building the trailer from scratch, we decided it was worth customising a design to meet our specific needs.  The requirements we identified were:

The Chassis

I had a chance conversation with a friend at a BBQ about our ideas for a trailer and found out a member of their family had an old trailer tent trailer they wanted to sell.  The trailer had long been missing its canvas and was being used a camping trailer to transport camping equipment etc.

After some further conversations and looking at pictures the trailer was purchased and their family kindly delivered it to us.  The trailer was for an old Conway Miami (DL/90) trailer tent and came with a detachable kitchen.

Teardrop Trailer

The wife and I enjoy camping, but we aren't fans of spending a morning loading/unloading the car, drying wet tents or setting up then packing down a camp kitchen.  The power of the Internet introduced us to the concept of Teardrop Trailers / Caravans, and it seemed like the perfect solution.
